Starter

This piece involves interacting with it as its use is to inspire people. I pulled out pages from books and wrote the title and author on the top of the page. People are suppose to pick a page out and read the story, if they are interested in reading the whole story they can go and get the book if not they can try another starter. The pages only just fit and it's pretty tight so i would need something bigger to hold them so it's easier to just select a random one. I think these would be useful in libraries and at home if people struggle choosing which book next. Overall this is to make people pick up a book and discover a story.
I painted the box dark blue to purple then pink. This gradient is quite soft not bright like a red, its more mysterious and intriguing. Then i covered the lid with lace as the pink couldn't really cover the packaging underneath. Additionally i wanted this to look cute as if it was aimed and little kids. I included buttons to make it look crafty and a quote to inspire and encourage people to read. I placed these all randomly as it would look more interesting to a child. Lastly i added this ribbon with a loop so that it could be hung up on the wall, door etc so it was accessible to anyone.
I really like this piece and how it is useful and part of a room decoration. It would need to be slighter wider to fit the pages and needs more pages so it was full and gives a bigger, interesting selection. To improve this further i would create other version, some more sophisticated for adults etc. I could do another version where instead of books it held quotes to inspire someone if they were feekin g low. Or it could be used to put in ideas, goals that people want to achieve and at some point they pick one out and set that as their new goal to achieve.
