Hiding

 
  I really like this piece and how i used a CD case to create it. Once again inspired by the Coraline forest scene i developed a new version. I used torn out pages to cover the inside of the case but didn't trim them short as a story is more than what's in a book iot spills out and lives on in others who can share the story. Next i painted trees and some shorter stumps almost as if this forest was burned down. I don't like how the trees turned out as they are all too close and the levels aren't obvious between them all. Additionally the fully grown trees aren't good especially with their branches. To improve this i want to paint the trees on a stretch of wall so they are almost life size.
     Or i could create real versions so people could walk through the trees in a dark lit area. I would have soft music play that would create a specific chiming sound when the fairy appears and causes blossom to appear that would be done by using lights. The fairy on this piece was another cut out from my colouring book, she's causing life to grow again, like how kids hold on to their belief of magic for so long. This also makes me think about Narnia and how the veil witch was killing the land of narnia, same again with the red queen. Everything could grow again normally once they were overthrown. I painted the outside of this CD case black so it looked empty when closed, people would only be interested as they would wonder why paper is sticking out, the story is the only reason people open and pick up books.
