The colour blue is associated with stability and to have a calming effect on our minds. I thought this worked with the idea of a fantasy being used as an escape to cope. A fantasy can be healthy to a certain measure, if this drawing was to depict a healthy type of creativity i would draw the entire face, building up the scribbles to make more distinct features in the face. There would be less loose scribbles coming out of the face as the person would be more controlled, instead the loose lines would be more sharp and straight coming out like sparks opf ideas. The blue paint would be mixed with other colours like yellow, white, and red to show the flow of creativity in the mind, the paint strokes would be on the face with the fineliner over the top.
To improve this piece i would work on my facial features drawing quality, especially the eye as it is not very realistic. I would like to experiment on drawing the face more faint to show the idea of being more distant from reality. I could probably develop this into three pieces beginning with the faintest face drawing, then this piece and lastly the full face. It could be viewed from either direction as someone beginning with a healthy creative mind then falling into being trapped in a fantasy mind or vice versa. I would also draw the face smaller so its more distant and not so powerful on the page. If it was smaller the viewer would have to look closer and it would not catch their eye so quickly like a person daydreaming is very zoned out and its hard for them to focus as they are so distant.
